Review by Mesh Got there, got in after freezing a bit
outside. Lucy's friend Cat emceed (entertained us
witha story of her and Lucy going to the Pleasure
Chest), Tig Nauturo did her standup (she used to be a
receptionist at RenPic, now in Sarah Silverman's show.).
The rest was just too much. Lucy was free, wild and just
amazing beyond words.
1st set, Lucy showed up in a white tee, jeans and chaps.
Good selection of songs, great band. Just awesome. She
did Don't Let Me Down, a NZ song, a version of Melissa
Etheridge's Like The Way I Do (with Gabrielle inserted
at the end of numerous verses), Bonnie Raitt's Something
To Talk About... She looked like she had tons of fun.
One of her backup singers Charlotte sang a song she
wrote for a friend who went to Iraq, excellent beats,
very catchy rock song. She was great. They later sang
Janis Joplins' Piece of My Heart.
Lucy opened the 2nd set with Tell Momma in the dress we
know form her
Duets performance.
Renee showed up to dance during the 2nd song in the 2nd
set, floored me. Lucy alone almost killed me, add Renee
in a dress similar to Lucy's, but in purple, plus her
dancing... guh! I was holding my head in disbelief, jaw
dropped, couldn't stop grinning.
She sang Tell Momma again, as per teh request of the
crowd, Pull up to
my bumper...
The night ended all too soon!
We're going back tomorrow.
